<\/p>\nResearch helps people nurture their potential and achieve goals through various opportunities. A tool for building knowledge and efficient learning is one of the reasons why research is important especially among students-researchers. The College of Maritime Education conducted its 4th Students\u2019 Research Colloquium last March 2, 2018, at the school’s main library. This year\u2019s colloquium was inspired by the theme \u201cEnhancing Research through Institutional Initiatives Benchmarking on Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Protection.\u201d The said event was participated by selected maritime students who were enrolled in research during the first\u00a0semester of school year 2017-2018. The program was warmly welcomed by the ever supportive Administrator Mr. Robert O. Parcia who inspired the maritime students to do more on maritime-related studies.<\/p>\n

The event was also graced by the presence of 2\/M Eleno S. Sing, Dean of the College of Maritime Education who gave the inspirational message and Dr. Emeliza T. Estimo, the Unit Research Coordinator who talked about the Institutional Research Agenda. Dr. Melchor Magramo, the System Research Director gave some updates on some milestones in research for JBLFMU. The rationale of the program was presented by Mrs. Joanna S. Gudio, Subject Area Head for General Education. Dr. Araceli C. Doromal, Unit Academic Coordinator, introduced the keynote speaker. To critique the papers presented during the event, Dr. Marissa B. Petalla, Integrated School Coordinator of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, was invited as a paper reactor and keynote speaker.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From the mound of different students\u2019 research outputs, three best papers were selected to be presented at the colloquium and these included Paper 1: \u201cAwareness and Compliance of Formal Safety <\/p>\n Part of the event was the poster presentation of different student researches. Seven posters were presented and were judged by Capt. Luis G. Evidente, Executive Assistant to the CEO and Dr. Lourdes Ara\u00f1ador, Director for Academic Affairs.
