Lacsonian researchers shine in the 2021-2022 JBLCF-B Virtual Research Colloquium and Sharing of Innovative Practices as they showcase their talent and skills in the field of Research and Development, March 15 via Zoom.<\/p>\n

With the theme \u201cRealigning Institutional Priorities, Research, and Innovative Practices in Coping with the Pandemic,\u201d the school\u2019s Research and Development Center led the event to strengthen the research culture among students and faculty as a commitment to JBLFC-B\u2019s Mission and Ten Point Agenda.<\/p>\n

When COVID-19 became a pandemic in 2020, JBLCF-Bacolod, like other educational institutions, was compelled to put a high premium on innovation as a radical solution to adapt to change. To sustain its delivery of quality education and training, various departments have come up with adaptive measures to cope with the shift from F2F to online mode of delivery despite the challenges brought about by the pandemic.<\/p>\n

This year, three innovative practices from different departments were shared in the event, namely: \u201cInnovative Remote Transactions: Academics and Guidance Services Made Possible\u201d by Dr. Eva M. Hilay, Principal of Basic Education Department; \u201cThe Accounting Solution: Innovating Amidst Financial Struggles Brought by COVID\u201d by Reinand Y. Ramirez, Head of Finance Department; and \u201cSAS Innovates: Sharing of Innovative Practices of the Student Affairs and Services Department\u201d by Trina Grace L. Pahilanag, Guidance Paraprofessional of Student Affairs and Services Department.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, two featured, and three competing papers were presented where John Eric E. Pangantihon, Alumnus of the Basic Education Department, and Alyn G. Libertad, Faculty of College of Maritime Education, won as Best Paper Presenter Award in Student Category and Faculty Category, respectively.<\/p>\n

Students\u2019 creativity was also highlighted in the Logo Design Contest and Digital Poster Making Contest. Vince Dave Duquilla of BSMT-PB (1) won 1st place in Logo Design Contest, and Antonion Ricardo Nobleza of BSHM 1-Alpha dominated the Digital Poster Making Contest.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr., Director IV of CHED Regional Office VI, graced the event together with the school department heads led by Engr. Roberto Neal Sobrejuanite, JBLCF-B Administrator.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we are going to change policies, if we are going to change things, we need Research. Research is change,\u201d said Dr. Alvarez.<\/p>\n

JBLCF-B Research and Development Center, headed by Research Coordinator Dr. Emeliza Estimo, expressed gratitude to everyone who made the event successful.<\/p>\n

The Unit Research Colloquium started as a tradition in all academic campuses of JBLFMU in 2010. This event has eventually been adapted as an avenue for the presentation of research studies conducted by the faculty, administrative staff, and students, and the for dissemination of findings and recommendations for research utilization—all to enhance instruction and improve the delivery of quality services to satisfy the stakeholders\u2019 expectations better. The following years after its birth, the Unit Research Colloquium became a whole-day event that included the Sharing of Best Practices; hence, the activity was later called Unit Research Colloquium and Sharing of Best Practices.<\/p>\n
